Graz, March 1, 2017. International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from the Italian Burgo Group to rebuild and convert its PM2, a printing and white writing paper machine, and its approach system into a modern brown packaging paper machine at the Avezzano mill, Italy. After full conversion, the PM 2 will have an annual production capacity of over 200,000 tons, with a design speed of 1,200 m/min and a paper width at reel of 5,340 mm. The machine will produce corrugating medium and two-ply testliner with a basis weight range of 80-170 gsm for the production of containerboard. The raw material is recycled OCC and mixed waste paper. Start-up is scheduled for the end of 2017.

SCA invests to further strengthen tissue operations in Mexico and baby diaper operations in Europe

To further strengthen competitiveness and enable future growth in the tissue operations in Mexico, SCA has decided to invest about USD 105m (approx. SEK 950m) in one of the company’s facilities in the country. To strengthen its baby diaper product offering in Europe, SCA has also decided to invest about EUR 40m (approx. SEK 380m) in facilities in Europe.

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 22, 2017 -- International Paper (NYSE: IP) announced the following senior leadership changes. Thomas J. Plath has been elected by the board of directors to become Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Global Citizenship, effective March 1, 2017. Mr. Plath joined International Paper in 1991, serving most recently as Vice President, Human Resources, Global Businesses.

Stora Enso plans to shut down one SC paper machine at Kvarnsveden Mill in Sweden

Stora Enso will start co-determination negotiations with employees at its Kvarnsveden Mill in Sweden regarding a plan to reorganise the mill, including a permanent closure of paper machine (PM) 8. The planned actions would affect a maximum of 140 employees. The paper machine has an annual capacity of 100 000 tonnes of super-calendered uncoated magazine paper (SC) and it is planned to be shut down by the end of the second quarter of 2017.

Graz, February 10, 2017 -- International technology Group ANDRITZ was awarded an order from Consorzio Cartiere in Tivoli, Italy, to upgrade the board machine and related stock preparation line at the mill in Tivoli. After start-up, which is scheduled for the beginning of 2018, the capacity of the board machine will be increased from 78,000 to over 100,000 t/a.

Toledo, OH – Impact Products has promoted Robb Borgen to Vice President of Marketing. Borgen brings 30 years experience in the jan/san industry to his new position. He held previous positions with Impact including Regional Business Manager, Director of Emerging Markets, and most recently Director of Marketing. Prior to joining Impact as a direct employee in 2008, Borgen represented Impact as a manufacturer’s representative for 15 years while employed with The Stockdale Company where he also served as Executive Vice President.
