UPM Acquires Gascogne's Labelstock Operations In Switzerland

STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)-- Finnish paper maker UPM-Kymmene Oyj (UPM1V.HE) said Friday its subsidiary UPM Raflatac has signed an agreement to acquire the business operations of Gascogne Laminates Switzerland SA for an undisclosed purchase price.

MAIN FACTS:
-Gascogne Laminates Switzerland is the labelstock business of Gascogne (BI.FR), a major player in the French wood industry.
-Gascogne's labelstock operations' sales totaled EUR44 million in 2011.
-The company employs approximately 110 persons in its factory in Martigny, Switzerland.

-UPM shares closed Thursday at EUR8.285.
